“Eyes Wide Shut in Jersey City,” 1999/2001. Ink on paper, 8.5″ x 11″. A collaboration with New Jersey cartoonist Bruno Nadalin (who suggested I change the story location from Hoboken to Jersey City; he thought that Hoboken had grown gentrified). Also an homage to Stanley Kubrick’s final film, Eyes Wide Shut (1999), the first of his films I ever saw on the large screen.–DVM, December 12, 2016
